My Lightroom Classic Bulk Processing Workflow

This post serves as my personal reference guide for efficiently bulk processing photos in Lightroom Classic. I've developed this streamlined workflow to save time while maintaining consistent quality across all my images.

Step 1: Noise Reduction with DXO PureRAW

Before importing into Lightroom Classic, I process all RAW files through DXO PureRAW for superior noise reduction:

  1. Launch DXO PureRAW
  2. Import RAW images
  3. Apply noise reduction processing
  4. Export the processed files

Step 2: Import to Lightroom Classic

  1. Launch Lightroom Classic
  2. Import the DXO PureRAW processed files
  3. Organize into appropriate collections if needed

Step 3: Initial Profile and Aberration Correction

  1. Select a single representative image
  2. Set the profile to "Landscape" (my go-to choice for 99% of images)
  3. Enable "Remove Chromatic Aberrations" in the Lens Corrections panel
  4. Select all photos with Ctrl+A
  5. Open the Sync Settings dialog with Ctrl+Shift+S
  6. Ensure only Profile and Lens Corrections are selected
  7. Click "Synchronize" to apply these settings to all photos

Step 4: Apply Auto Settings to All Photos

  1. Switch to Grid View (G)
  2. With all photos still selected, press Ctrl+U
  3. This applies Lightroom's auto tone adjustments to all selected photos

Step 5: Boost Saturation Across All Photos

  1. Select a single image
  2. In the Develop module, increase Saturation to 18
  3. Select all photos again with Ctrl+A
  4. Open Sync Settings with Ctrl+Shift+S
  5. Uncheck all options except "Saturation"
  6. Click "Synchronize" to apply the saturation boost to all photos without overriding the individual auto adjustments

Benefits of This Workflow

  • Efficiency: Process hundreds of photos in minutes
  • Consistency: Maintain a cohesive look across all images
  • Flexibility: The auto adjustments preserve the unique qualities of each photo
  • Quality: DXO PureRAW provides superior noise reduction before any Lightroom adjustments

This workflow serves as my starting point for most photo collections. From here, I can further fine-tune individual standout images that need special attention.
